Dubai Mallathon 2026 Draws Record 160,475 Participants Logging 290 Million Steps Across Nine Malls Over Three-Month Summer Event Ending September 15

The Dubai Mallathon 2026 attracted 160,475 participants across more than nine malls and destinations over three months, with participants logging more than 290 million steps during the summer event, which ran from June 15 to September 15. Three new venues—Dubai International Airport, Dubai International Financial Centre, and Ibn Battuta Mall—were added to the second edition. The event included more than 14 weekly races, a full marathon, and a 21-kilometer half-marathon held inside Dubai Mall. The initiative, held under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, transformed shopping malls across the emirate into sporting venues. Khalfan Belhoul, vice chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, said sport can bring the community together and encourage more people to get active. The second edition represents significant growth over the inaugural event, with more than 160,000 people taking part in the record-breaking initiative. The program ran throughout the summer heat when outdoor exercise is challenging, providing climate-controlled indoor venues for fitness activities. Results were announced on September 19.
