Nominations for the first edition of the Dubai-it Award open today, August 10, and will run through September 10, 2026, inviting individuals, projects, companies, and organisations that have turned ambitious ideas into measurable results with speed, excellence, and effective execution. The award, launched under the directives of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, is based on the Dubai-it initiative announced by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to reflect Dubai's philosophy of action — turning bold ideas into reality and delivering with excellence in record time. Achievements, projects, and initiatives delivered over the past four years are eligible for consideration across 10 strategic fields: Government, Real Estate, Economy, Business, Technology, Sports, Society, Education, Services, and Health. The award allows self-nominations as well as nominations by companies, institutions, and third parties. According to the organisers, the award is designed to pull people toward action and spotlight those who lead, build, transform, and deliver, with emphasis not only on what was achieved but how it was achieved — ambition, quality of execution, speed, measurable results, and lasting impact. Nominations can be submitted through the Dubai-it Award's digital platform at dubaiitaward.ae. The annual cycle will establish an ongoing platform for recognising achievements, documenting impact, and raising the bar for ambition across sectors. Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, who oversees the award, said it is intended to create an annual moment of recognition for exceptional achievers and contribute to Dubai's continuous transformation. The award represents a natural extension of the Dubai-it philosophy, which has become embedded in the emirate's approach to governance, business, and development, celebrating not just outcomes but the mindset and execution discipline that make Dubai's rapid transformation possible.
