Officers from Naif Police Station formed a search team, circulated the child's photograph among patrols, and located her on a nearby street, where she was found crying and extremely frightened, according to statements from Brigadier Omar Mousa Ashour reported by The National, Gulf News, and ARN News. The girl had accompanied her father to a grocery store near their home. When he could not find her, he assumed she had returned home independently before alerting police when she was not there. Officers comforted the child at Naif station before reuniting her with her father. Dubai Police used the incident to urge parents and guardians to supervise young children closely in public places and teach them to approach police officers or security personnel if they become lost.
