Etihad Rail Dubai Station at Jumeirah Golf Estates Nearly Complete Ahead of September 30 Opening, 57-Minute Journey to Abu Dhabi with Direct Metro Red Line Connection

Etihad Rail's Dubai Al Yalayis Station, located adjacent to Jumeirah Golf Estates in southern Dubai, is scheduled to open on September 30 alongside Al Dhaid Station in Sharjah, marking the next major phase of the UAE's national passenger rail network. The National viewed the station from the street on September 13 and reported it appeared complete, with finishing touches being applied to roads and landscaping and building crews completing external elements including the station's footbridge. The journey from Dubai Al Yalayis Station to Abu Dhabi Mohamed bin Zayed City Station will take 57 minutes, offering a notable time saving over driving. The station connects directly to the Dubai Metro Red Line via an elevated walkway nearly 400 meters long, with plans for the station to become an interchange when the Gold Line opens in 2032. Specifics including ticket pricing and the number of journeys per day have yet to be announced. The station's location along Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road provides road access from a wide area of the emirate, with nearby communities including Green Community, Al Furjan, Dubai Investment Park, Dubai Production City and Expo City Dubai all within reach. Etihad Rail said it has already sold more than 70,000 tickets since introducing passenger services between Abu Dhabi and Fujairah on June 30, reflecting strong public demand. The phased rollout continues with Liwa and Madinat Zayed stations opening November 30, 2026, followed by Al Dhafra on December 30, and Sharjah on March 30, 2027. Property experts anticipate rising values in the Dubai South area, driven by the station's opening, new metro links and proximity to Al Maktoum International Airport.
