ROX Begins UAE Vehicle Production in Abu Dhabi as KEZAD Manufacturing Centre Targets 300,000 Annual Capacity by 2030

The first UAE-manufactured ROX ADAMAS vehicles rolled off the production line at the company's Advanced AI Manufacturing Centre in Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi in early September 2026, with representatives from the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology and the Abu Dhabi Investment Office attending the start of production, according to The National and MEED reporting on the milestone. The 10,000-square-metre facility handles more than 80 types of component sub-assembly processes, followed by vehicle assembly, calibration, rain and road testing, and final pre-delivery inspection. ROX expects the plant to reach an initial annual production capacity of 20,000 vehicles in 2027, scaling to 300,000 vehicles per year by 2030. Two additional facilities, the ROX AI Lab and the ROX Design Studio, have opened alongside the manufacturing centre, bringing AI development and vehicle design into the same operation as production. The start of production marks a significant output from the UAE's efforts to build an automotive manufacturing industry under the Operation 300bn strategy to grow the industrial sector. Rather than a limited assembly operation, the Kezad centre is designed to handle the bulk of a vehicle's build process on site, including sub-assembly through to testing and inspection stages that determine whether a plant can be trusted with export volumes. Vehicles built in Abu Dhabi are intended to serve the UAE market while also supporting exports to regional and international markets, positioning the facility as part of ROX's global supply chain rather than a domestic-only operation. ROX plans to unveil its first UAE-designed vehicle, the Abu Dhabi Edition, in March 2027, developed through the company's global design network and incorporating influences inspired by Emirati culture.
