UAE Jiu-Jitsu Team Wins 13 Medals in Under-18 Competition on Tuesday at 2026 World Championship in Abu Dhabi

The UAE Jiu-Jitsu National Team, sponsored by Mubadala Investment Company, continued its outstanding campaign at the 2026 Jiu-Jitsu World Championship on Tuesday, winning 13 medals in the Under-18 competition at Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi. Leading the day's medal haul were standout performances from UAE athletes across multiple weight categories. The championship, running from August 1 to 9 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, is bringing together more than 1,500 athletes from around the world competing across the under-16, under-18, under-21, and adult divisions. The UAE national team is fielding 114 athletes and seeking an unprecedented seventh consecutive JJIF World Championship title, extending one of the most dominant dynasties in international jiu-jitsu. At the 2025 World Championship in Bangkok, the UAE finished atop the overall medal standings with 10 gold medals, securing the country's sixth straight world championship. The event cements Abu Dhabi's reputation as the global home of jiu-jitsu and a center for hosting world-class international sporting events. Organized by the Jiu-Jitsu International Federation and hosted by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, the championship also featured the 2026 World Cup Under-14 on the opening day, August 1, showcasing the UAE's commitment to developing talent at every stage of life. The UAE coaching staff entered the final phase of preparation fine-tuning every aspect of the team's performance ahead of the home event.
