UAE Launches Cybrani National Cyber Security Training Initiative at GISEC Global 2026, Bridging University Education with Industry Through Seven-University Pilot

The UAE Cyber Security Council, in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, announced the Cybrani Practical Training Initiative during GISEC Global 2026 in Dubai. The program connects university students with government bodies, academic institutions, and private sector organizations to develop practical cyber security skills. Seven universities will participate in the first phase, including Khalifa University, UAE University, the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, Zayed University, Abu Dhabi Polytechnic, Rabdan Academy, and the Higher Colleges of Technology. Industry partners include Abu Dhabi Police, Mawaheb Talent Hub of the Department of Government Enablement, CPX, Core42, ANSEN, Cyber50 Defense, Sia, and Fortinet. Training covers six disciplines: governance and compliance, cyber operations, threat intelligence, digital forensics, secure software development, and AI in cyber security. The initiative bridges the gap between university education and industry requirements by helping students engage with real-world cyber security challenges and receive professional mentorship. Cybrani forms part of broader national efforts to develop cyber security skills among the next generation and support the UAE's digital transformation agenda. The announcement came during GISEC Global 2026, the Middle East and Africa's largest cybersecurity event, which ran September 16-18 at Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City Dubai, drawing more than 25,000 cybersecurity professionals, over 750 exhibiting brands, 350-plus expert speakers, and participants from more than 180 countries.
