UAE President, Sultan of Oman Hold Talks on Economic Cooperation and Regional Stability

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman held discussions in Abu Dhabi today, August 17, focusing on strengthening bilateral cooperation in economic and development sectors. The talks also addressed regional and international developments, including the Middle East security situation. Sultan Haitham arrived at the Presidential Airport in Abu Dhabi earlier today and was received by Sheikh Mohamed alongside senior UAE officials. The meeting was attended by senior leaders and ministers from both countries. The summit comes as Oman continues separate diplomatic engagement with Iran over Strait of Hormuz transit arrangements, though neither leader publicly addressed those negotiations. The meeting underscores the UAE's focus on Gulf coordination amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing disruption to energy corridors. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to closer coordination in addressing shared challenges and supporting regional stability.
